SIBERSALDIRI.COM · FOCUSED LESSON
What you will learn
- Explain the relationship between the input file and the Function.
- “What problem does require_once prevent?” To give a reasoned answer to the question.
- Changing the example and comparing expected and observed behavior.
How it works and where the trust boundary lies
Place the business rule in the function that calls the output generation. Not using a closing tag in a PHP-only file reduces unintentional whitespace output. For file inclusion, load predetermined files instead of generating paths from user input. Path accuracy and file reliability should be evaluated separately.
Worked example
The following passage makes the concept visible. Evaluate samples containing commands or code in your own separate testing environment, not in the production system. Architectural diagrams and policy examples are not executable programs.
<?php
function label(int $n): string { return 'Ders ' . $n; }
echo label(1), PHP_EOL;Expected result and interpretation
Lesson 1 is written. PHP closing tag is not required.
Compare the scenarios
| Status | Recommended approach | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| Same helper loading twice | require_once | Only one definition required |
| User sends filename | Fixed mapping | Free file selection is prevented |
| Titles already posted | Look for unprompted output | Whitespace can also be considered output |
Practice task
Move the function to a separate file and load it twice with require_once. Check that there is no redefinition.
- Write down the expected outcome and acceptance condition before the action.
- Change a single variable; Record the observation and the medium you used.
- Evaluate the result with the comparison table above. Explain which assumption might be wrong if it does not fit.
Common mistake and how to correct it
Do not pass the path from the user directly to the include or require operation.
Test your understanding
What problem does require_once prevent?
Answer explained: Avoids the re-identification problem caused by reloading the same file; It does not verify the security of the uploaded file.
